We supply show quality gunstocks for traditional long rifles, shot guns and standard rifles. Figured Western Maple (Acer Macrophylum) is a soft maple with remarkable beauty.
Various terms are used to describe figured wood and many of them have similar definitions. The terms: tiger stripe, fiddle back, flame and curly refer to the parallel figured pattern.
The intensity and regularity of the pattern determines the grade and price. Every supplier comes up with some variation of a grading system such as 1, 2, 3 etc or AA, AAA, AAAA etc.
Gunstocks less than 39" long are shipped by mail. Larger orders are shipped UPS. If you have ordered wood from us and have photos of finished guns we would be pleased to display them on our site with proper credits.
